TikTok is growing into one of the biggest social media platforms in this era. In this blog, I will go over some of the characteristics that go into social media marketing with this particular platform. As of right now, TikTok is the #6 most popular social media platform and is continuing to grow. There is over 1 billion active monthly users on TikTok that target users in the 18-24 age range. This statistic certainly checks out because there are tons of college students around the world that use TikTok. I am a frequent user of TikTok and I enjoy looking at content that people post and also on the marketing side, I see tons of advertisements for different products. There are tons of businesses that are adopting TikTok as a main platform to promote their products. Due to the fact that there are tons of active monthly users and tons of teenagers that are curious about trying new things, it makes it easy for businesses to market on this platform. TikTok is also a leading platform for content engagements for businesses. There are many users that like and comment different content and TikTok will then show more of the content that you like to induce more engagements. I myself engage with a lot of content from businesses including Nike, Adidas, American Eagle, etc. After I engage with this content, I will then see more advertisements from similar businesses for me to engage with. TikTok is also very useful for popular influencers. They can post multiple times per day posting entertaining content and also promoting different products from businesses. 

TikTok has developed an opportunity for businesses to make a TikTok Business Account to further develop their brand and customize their content that is appealing to their target market. Using a TikTok Business Account allows businesses to look at their metrics from their content to see what content is getting more engagements to post more of that content. There are many aspects that go into making a TikTok post. Users can make videos with original sounds or sounds that have been used by other users. There is also an option for users to tell stories using the voiceover feature to allow your audience to hear your voice on your content. This applies a lot when users are promoting different products. Another way that businesses can get their audiences attention is by using trending content like music and hashtags with their content. Users tend to engage with content that is trendy to that period. I can recall countless times where I have heard a song from somewhere and then I hear the same song on TikTok that is being played to promote a product. I tend to engage with that kind of content the most. The main focus of TikTok is to just be yourself and create content that is entertaining to your audience. Creating content that is trendy is a great way to earn engagements from your audience. Social media marketing is growing on all platforms. However, TikTok is starting to take a commanding lead for businesses to promote their products in an entertaining and creative way.
