ONU Men's Soccer Home Season Opener

On Sep. 1st, the Polar Bears lace up the boots to defend Kerscher Stadium in our first game of the season against a strong Kenyon side. The team will head into the season being ranked #13 in the country after a strong finish last year in the sweet 16. Kenyon will head into this season as the #5 team in the country so it's safe to say this game will live up to the fast paced and physical nature. The Polar Bears have sacrificed a lot of time and effort on and off the field to prepare for the game. The boys have been trying to implement new tactics offensively and defensively to help score and prevent more goals. The team looks to be in good condition for we have a great athletic training staff that keeps the boys in solid shape throughout the season. The boys have also been getting it done in the weight room with our strength and conditioning coach, Luke Green-Lauber. The lineup is looking strong for we have a lot of returners with plenty of high level experience in collegiate soccer to get the job done.

Everyone on campus is excited for fall sports to be back in action. The boys are hoping to secure a massive win under the lights in Ada with ONU nation cheering us on. The fans will motivate us to want to compete with energy until the final whistle. The atmosphere in Ada will be electric come Friday. The team is on edge to kick-off the season on the right foot and gain some momentum heading into the non-conference schedule. The team has a difficult non-conference schedule and features a lot of teams with high soccer reputations. The boys are up for the challenge this season in the non-conference and in the OAC this season with goals of winning the OAC regular season, OAC tournament, and ultimately the National Championship. Come out and support the Polar Bears this Friday Sep. 1st at 7:00pm! The boys could use all of the support to help drive them to victory!

Go Bears!
