In this blog, we will uncover some of the ways to efficiently market using X. It is common knowledge that X is formally known as Twitter. Similar to Instagram, it is a social media platform that users can post images and videos that other people can see. Twitter was originally founded in 2006 by Jack Dorsey with the goal of creating a messaging system similar to texting. Within a few years, the platform grew exponentially. However, Elon Musk was intrigued by the platform and wanted to own the platform himself. He did so in October 2022 and purchased Twitter for $44 billion. The change from Twitter to X was a very dramatic change and it caused a lot of confusion among users of Twitter. This caused X to completely change their brand to ensure that they kept their users.
X is a marketing powerhouse and businesses understand that there are tons of monthly active users. There is a quote from the book that states, "In addition, 69% of X survey respondents have purchased from a brand after following it on X, and 79% of those followers reposted content from that brand." X users are always looking for new products to look at and purchase. Businesses that use X can easily identify and engage with their target market by connecting with influencers as well. Similar to Instagram, X offers the ability for businesses to develop professional accounts to further enhance their brand appearance and see what kinds of content their target consumers are engaging in. Another thing that X introduced recently was X Blue, which is a subscription that adds a blue verification checkmark next to a profile. Having the blue checkmark will unlock numerous different options that profiles can take advantage of. On the other side, similar to the blue checkmark, businesses can receive a gold checkmark to earn their verification on X. When profiles and businesses have their verification checkmarks, they gain more credibility on the app with the content they post. Similar to other social media platforms, users can post pictures, videos, GIF's, and small articles. Users also have the option to post up to four pictures in the same post and it is proven that posts with pictures earn more engagements. Overall, the main purpose of X in a business perspective is to connect with people, and reach their target audience easily. I think that X will continue to grow in monthly users and the amount of content posted per day.
